Uploads and your Strava export
Workout files from any watch, your whole Strava history, and deleting what you brought.
Files you bring are yours, so the coach reads them, a Strava export included. Uploading works without a subscription; the coach's feedback on what you upload needs one.
Upload a workout file
- 01
On Activities, press the + at the top (Upload a workout).
- 02
Choose a FIT, TCX or GPX file, also as .gz, up to 16 MB. You can set the sport, a name, the day and a note; left empty, sport and time come from the file.
- 03
Press Save workout. One file at a time.
The same file uploaded twice updates that workout instead of adding a second one. A file of a workout a connected service already brought shows as one card when it is the same recording, with the file's values first. With a subscription, a workout you upload within two days of doing it gets the coach's feedback like any other: After a workout. If you switched on Send activities here on the intervals.icu or Strava row, a copy goes there too, unless it is there already.
Import your Strava export
Workouts that reach Milewise through the Strava connection are shown but not read by the coach, by Strava's rules. Your own Strava export is different: those are your files.
- 01
Ask Strava for your archive in Strava's settings, under My Account, Download or Delete Your Account. Strava mails you a zip.
- 02
Open You, then Settings, then Connected apps. On the Strava row, find Import your Strava export and press Import. The row shows it while Strava is connected.
- 03
Press Choose zip (or pick the folder, if you already unzipped it), then Start import. The archive is opened on your device, and only the workout recordings go up, with the names, types and descriptions you gave them; never your photos, contacts or messages.
Keep the window open while it runs. Starting it again skips what is already there, so an import that stopped carries on where it left off. Imported workouts join your history and the coach reads them; they do not each get feedback, and disconnecting Strava keeps them.
Delete what you brought
- One workout: open it, press Edit, then Delete activity. An uploaded file is erased for good.
- By where it came from: open You, then Settings, then Privacy, and find Delete uploaded activities. Tick Files you uploaded, Imported from a Strava data export or both, then press Delete selected. Another service's copy of the same workout stays, and so does a copy already sent on.
Deleting your account deletes your files with it: Your data.
